Design Story: Aureole
When Fred Carl asked me to help design a commercial line of appliances for Viking back in 1999 (yes...that long ago!!), I jumped at the chance to bring a new perspective to the design and construction of commercial cooking appliances. I have been involved with Viking ever since, and the debut of Viking Commercial ranges is the culmination of many years labor from some of the best minds in the business.
Chef Charlie Palmer has been at the very heart of the evolution of American cuisine. It seemed perfectly fitting that he should be on the cutting-edge of the evolution of the first truly new American-made range battery in many years. He provided me with the opportunity to showcase Viking in the heart of Manhattan at one of the nation's most prestigious restaurants: Aureole.
Viking has stepped up to the plate in all aspects of the installation: their service techs were on-site to oversee the installation and provide technical assistance throughout the opening.
